Position Overview: The Home Remodel Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing home renovation and remodeling projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources, managing subcontractors, and coordinating team efforts to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop detailed project plans and schedules, considering client requirements and budget constraints.
    • Coordinate with subcontractors and engineers to finalize project scope and deliverables.
    • Source and manage relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Budget Management:

    • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
    • Approve purchase orders and track project expenses to avoid cost overruns.
    • Prepare cost estimates for clients and manage any change orders.
  • Team Management:

    • Lead and coordinate a team of construction professionals, including subcontractors and laborers.
    • Ensure all team members understand project goals and their roles in achieving them.
    • Monitor team performance and provide guidance or corrective actions as necessary.
  • Client Communication:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress.
    • Address client concerns promptly and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project.
    • Conduct site visits with clients to review progress and make necessary adjustments.
  • Quality Control:

    • Ensure all work is completed to high standards and in accordance with project specifications.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
    • Resolve any issues or deficiencies promptly to maintain project timelines.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify potential risks or obstacles that could impact project timelines or budgets.
    • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and manage unforeseen challenges.
    • Ensure safety protocols are followed on-site to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Project Closeout:

    • Ensure all project documentation is completed, including final inspections, punch lists, and client sign-offs.
    • Oversee the final cleanup and handover of the remodeled home to the client.
    • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years in construction management or a similar role, focusing on residential projects.
  • Skills:
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in project management software and construction management tools.
    • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
    • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and blueprints.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent visits to construction sites with exposure to typical construction site hazards.
  • Some travel may be required to meet with clients, vendors, or other stakeholders.
  • Use of personal vehicle required; company covers gas and reimburses $600 or $0.67/mile.

Compensation:

  • Salary: $60,000-$120,000 annually based on performance (commission-based).
  • Training Pay: $20.00 per hour during the training period.
